How to File a Compliant to Yahoo for Online Dating Fraud
Yahoo takes all forms of online abuse and fraud seriously. If you have been misled, abused or defrauded by a Yahoo Personals member, you'll need to file a complaint with Yahoo Personals immediately. The quicker you file your compliant, the less likely it is that the perpetrator will be able to mislead or defraud others. Yahoo has two categories of abuse and fraud: one for impersonators and one for everything else.

Gather as many details about the situation as possible. At minimum, you'll need the perpetrator's Yahoo ID or Yahoo Personal's ad number. Prepare a short statement describing the situation and what the person has done.

Visit the Yahoo Personals Abuse Help page (see Resources). Enter the perpetrator's Yahoo ID or ad number on the top line, and then copy and paste your complaint into the box. Enter your name and email address and click "Submit." Yahoo will review the information and get in contact with you within a few days.

File an impersonator report using a different method. If someone is committed Yahoo Personals fraud by using your name, information or photo, you'll need to file a different type of complaint. Make a photocopy of your picture ID (such as a driver's license, state ID or passport). Write a short statement describing the situation. Include the impersonator's Yahoo ID or ad number. Fax the statement, along with the photocopy of your license to 1-408-349-7398. You can also mail the complaint to:
