Troubleshooting for the Husqvarna Viking Sewing Machine

Instructions

Machine Doesn't Run

1. Double-check your machine's power cord and make sure it's plugged in firmly on both ends--to the machine's power connection socket and to the wall electrical outlet.

2. Double-check that the machine is turned on.

3. Check the thread in the bobbin compartment. Make sure it is not tangled, and remove any tangled threads.

4. Check the bobbin winder. Make sure the spindle is not in the winding position.

5. Make sure the handwheel is in the sewing position.

Needle Thread Breaks

1. Inspect your machine's threading. If it is threaded improperly, rethread the machine, taking care to thread it according to the user manual for your specific Husqvarna Viking model.

2. Loosen the needle thread tension according to the specifications in the user manual.

3. Inspect the needle. If it is damaged or bent, replace it. If the needle is incorrectly inserted, remove it and insert it again, taking care to place it as the user manual instructs.

4. Make sure that the needle and bobbin threads are positioned properly when you begin sewing. Both should be under the presser foot and pulled to the rear of the machine.

Bobbin Thread Breaks

Stitch Problems

1. Rethread the machine, taking care to thread as per the user manual.

2. Purchase and use a higher-quality needle.

3. Check the needle thread tension. Loosen the tension if fabric puckers as you sew. Tighten the tension if the thread forms loops on the seam.

4. Shorten the stitch length if fabric puckers, as per the user manual.

5. Clean lint from the feed teeth with the lint brush that Husqvarna supplied with your machine. Make sure the teeth are in the raised position, as per the user manual.
