How to e-file with TaxACT
TaxACT is an online tax service that allows you to electronically file your taxes online, without the aid of an expensive broker or requirement to constantly purchase a yearly upgrade for tax software. The online site even allows you to pay electronically through your checking account. Doing so not only saves you a great deal of money, but it also cuts down on the amount of paper typically used to print out tax documents.

2
Fill in your registration information (such as email address, password, username and a security question), then click "Start Free Now."
-
-
3
Select the "Personal Information," then fill in the data required (such as address, children, filing status and all other information you qualify for). Select "Continue" once you have finished.
-
4
Input your tax information. This includes your W-2 or 1090 data. All of the required tax I.D. numbers are pointed out so you won't have a problem finding the information on your paperwork.
-
5
Follow the remaining prompts to input all of your necessary tax information. Click "Continue" once you have finished and you are shown how much you are going to receive back, or how much you must pay out. If you must pay out for your taxes, type in your checking account's banking and routing numbers and submit the payment. This allows the federal government to electronically withdraw the money without a paper check.
-
6
Click "Submit" and the tax return is sent to the IRS.
