How to Glue Extension Tracks on Hair
Extensions can make your hair appear longer or even fuller. Hot fusion and bonding are two of many hair extension application forms that exist. Fusion means gluing strands of hair to the extension strands with a glue gun. Bonding requires glue to be applied to the extension and attached to the real hair. Methods like hot fusion may have long-lasting effects but take a very long time and require the help of professionals. Though bonding may not last as long, it is a faster way to apply tracks to the hair on your own or with the assistance of a friend. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1
Detangle your hair with a comb, making sure to comb all tangles out. Section the hair and detangle if you have to.
-
2
Using the back end of the rat-tail comb, part your hair at the nape of the neck. Part horizontally across your scalp until you reach the hairline of each side. Use the hair clips to keep the top section of hair above the part, out of the way.

3
Apply the track at one end of the horizontal part that you just made. Extend the fake hair across the entire part until it reaches the opposite end of the part. Use this as your measurement of how much hair is needed for an application along the part. Take some scissors and cut the track at the same length as the part on the scalp.
-
4
Cut an additional ½ inch off the track on each side to help prevent detection of the track.
-
5
Apply a thin strip of glue to the entire length of the track's seam. The seam is a strap located at the top of the track to keep the fake hair from shedding and falling apart.
-
6
Apply the track onto the hair close to the roots but not on the scalp. Press down onto the seam so that the hair sticks to the glue.
-
7
Take a blow-dryer and blow air onto the weft of the extensions to dry the glue faster. Blow-dry the section for about 30 seconds to a minute until the glue has dried.
-
8
Take a comb and gently comb the extension against your real hair to blend the two. Do not comb through the roots near the seam or it could rip out, along with your real hair.
-
9
Take the rat-tail comb to make another horizontal part about an inch above the previous part, and repeat the steps.

Tips & Warnings
Find tracks the same color as your hair to slim the chances of detection of the fake hair.
Do not apply the tracks to the hairline at the front of your head. The tracks can be seen through the hairline on the front edges of your hair. You can cut the tracks to shorten them so that they begin at least 2 inches from the frontal hair line.
