Training Tutorial for Microsoft Expression Web 2.0
Expression Web is a Web page builder and editor offered by the Microsoft corporation. It is the successor to its older program Frontpage. Expression Web was created to compete more directly with the major player in the field, Dreamweaver. It has many of the same functions, including layers. Creating a basic Web page in Expression Web is not very difficult and can be done quite quickly.

1
Load any image or photos that you would like to add to your Web page layout onto your computer.
-
2
Open Expression Web. Hold down the "New Document" button under "File" and click "Website." In the dialog that appears, choose "Empty Website." Change the "Location" name to what you want for the file and click "OK."
-
-
3
Click on the "Default" page to open it. Right-click on the page and choose "Properties." In the dialog that appear, change the margins to 0.
-
4
Go to the "Layers" palette and click on the "New Layer" button (if the "Layers" palette is not visible, go to Windows and click "Layers"). A new layer will appear on the page. Use the mouse to position it on the page. Make the size the same as the page size you want (you can judge the size based on the readout as you resize it). Go to the "Layers" palette and rename the layer "Container."
-
5
Click inside the layer on the page. Click on the "New Layer" button and resize and position it where you want a picture inside the container.
-
6
Click inside the new layer. Select "Insert from the menu and choose Picture. From the options, choose "From File." Find the image you want to use on that part of the page and select it. Resize it to fit the layer.
-
7
Repeat steps 5-6 to add all of your graphics to the page. Then create layers for your text and type the text inside them. Save your work.
