1
Apply a light coat of moisturizer to your entire face. This helps prepare the skin for concealer application by giving it a consistent sheen and texture. If you're using a foundation, apply this to the face after the moisturizer dries.
-
2
Apply concealer to the entire area affected by the scar. Using a flat foundation brush will allow you to build coverage without streaking or lines. There are also many products on the market, like Dermablend or Smart Cover, which are unisex, or Menaji, which is specifically for men. Concealer comes in a variety of formulas and should be slightly lighter than your skin, so be sure to choose the one that is easiest for you to work with and applies the smoothest.

Avoid putting the concealer on just the blemish, as your goal is to make the spot looks as flawless and normal as possible. Spread the concealer to the skin surrounding the scar, up to a 1/2 inch on all sides. This will help when it's time to blend it into the rest of your skin.

Use your blending brush to gently sweep the concealer surrounding the spot out toward the rest of your face. Continue to sweep the concealer until the lines or edges have blended into the skin. If you are wearing foundation, perfect the coverage by blending the concealer into the foundation. You will know you're finished when it appears that you have just one smooth, natural shade.

5
Sweep a minimal coat of powder over the entire face if you are wearing makeup, to help set the concealer and foundation in place. Using the powder brush, apply the powder in a light circle motion.
