How to Process Stevia with Pure Raw Sugar

How to Process Stevia with Pure Raw Sugar thumbnail
Raw sugar is larger in grain than white sugar and amber in hue.

Whether you're a diabetic or simply trying to reduce your sugar intake for dietary reasons, processing stevia and raw sugar together allows you to cut out most of the sugar you take in daily. A mixture of processed stevia and raw sugar creates a highly sweet form of sugar that requires far less of it to be used to sweeten things. This reduces the amount of sugar you use. Stevia, a naturally sweet herb, is growing in popularity as an artificial sweetener.

Instructions

    • 1

Add the raw sugar granules to the food processor.

    • 2

Add the stevia powder to the sugar in the processor.

    • 3

Secure the cap of the food processor to keep from making a mess, and press the grind setting. Allow the materials in the unit to grind for approximately two minutes straight.

    • 4

Remove the lid and check the sugar and stevia mix. The result should be a fine sugar of light beige in color.

    • 5

Grind the sugar mixture for another two minutes to make sure any large pieces of raw sugar are completely ground up with the stevia.

Tips & Warnings

  • Just 1 tsp. of the raw sugar and stevia mixture tastes as sweet as 3 tbsp. of white sugar.
