1
Shave your arms. A decent razor with a couple of extra blade cartridges will cost between $5 and $15 at your local drugstore, grocery store or discount store, and a bottle of shaving cream usually runs for less than $4. First, lather up the arm with your shaving cream then shave the arm in the direction of the hair growth using gentle pressure on the blade. Rinse off the excess shaving cream and apply a moisturizer to the freshly shaved skin. One major drawback to shaving arm hair is that when the hair grows back it may appear darker and thicker than it was before.

Wax your arm hair away. Waxing the arm hair involves a bit more pain and discomfort than shaving does, but the results should last longer and hair regrowth should be finer and softer than after shaving. A waxing kit from a discount store or drug store may cost around $15 but should last several waxes. First heat the wax in the microwave according to the instructions supplied for your brand of product. Apply a small strip of the wax to your arms in the direction of hair growth and then cover it with a piece of waxing paper supplied with your kit. Quickly pull the wax strip back off the arm in the opposite direction of the hair growth. Repeat the process on the rest of your arm.

Use a depilatory cream. Depilatory creams are designed to dissolve exposed hairs so that they can be wiped or washed away without any pain. Hair should grow back without darkening or stubble and the results may last several days to a week. Apply the Depilatory Cream as directed in the product instructions. Do not rub it into your skin. Wait the instructed amount of time prescribed on the cream bottle: do not exceed the instructed amount of time. Wash, scrape or brush off dissolved hair and then rinse the treated area. Unfortunately some people have adverse reactions to depilatory creams and may receive chemical burns or allergic reactions to the product. Also, not every depilatory cream works for every individual's hair. Especially strong and thick body hair -- including arm hair -- may not dissolve sufficiently for hair removal.

Invest in permanent hair removal. Electrolysis and laser hair removal cost significantly more than the other options provided here, but the results are more long term. Research local beauty clinics and hair removal businesses in your region for pricing plans and discounts. Make an appointment for permanent hair removal at the clinic or location of your choice. Follow the clinic's guide on repeat visits. Permanent hair removal usually involves more than one treatment session.
