How to Uninstall Windows Live Onecare Family Safety
Windows Live One Care is a security tool developed for Windows operating systems. Once installed, it monitors your computer while running in the background and protects it from malicious threats including viruses, spyware and hackers. If you are no longer using Windows Live One Care or prefer to install and use another security tool, remove this application from your computer. Do this quickly using the built-in Windows uninstaller.

Click the Windows "Start" menu and click the "Control Panel."

Double-click the "Add or Remove Programs" icon under "Pick a category." Click "Remove a Program" under "Pick a task."

Click "Windows Live OneCare" and click "Remove." If prompted, type your administrator password and click "OK" to launch the uninstall wizard. Select the "Uninstall" option in the wizard. The uninstall wizard automatically deletes Windows Live OneCare and its setup folders. When the process completes, restart your computer when you see the uninstall confirmation.

Download and run the Windows Live OneCare cleanup utility if you are having a hard time uninstalling the program using the Windows uninstall utility. To download the cleanup utility, go to the Windows Live OneCare cleanup utility page. A new dialog box launches automatically. Click "Save" to launch the file-saving dialog box. Select the "Desktop" in the "Save in" box and click "Save" to download the cleanup utility to your desktop.

Double-click the Windows Live OneCare on the desktop and click "Run." The cleanup utility launches. Click "Continue" and click "I accept the terms of the End--User Licensing Agreement" after reading and accepting the licensing agreement. Click "Continue" again and click "Clean." The cleanup tool removes Windows Live OneCare, its setup files and registry entries. Click "Restart Now" when the cleanup tool finishes.

Click "Program and Features" and click "Windows Live One Care" in the "Currently installed programs" list.
