How to Convert PDF to Rich Text Files

Convert PDF files to RTF files

Rich Text Files, also referred to as "RTF" files, are document files you can open and edit using different word processing programs. There may be times when converting PDF files to Rich Text Files is necessary, such as if you need to edit the PDFs on your computer. Performing these types of conversions can be extremely useful if you do not have a PDF editor installed on the computer. Convert PDFs to RTFs using a PDF program or an Internet PDF converter.

Instructions

Nitro PDF

1. Open Nitro PDF.

2. Click on the "Open" icon that's located at the very top of Nitro PDF. The "Nitro PDF Professional" window appears.

3. Click the PDF file in the Nitro PDF window you're converting to RTF. Click "Open." The file opens.

4. Click the "To Rich Text" option in the "Convert" box in the Nitro PDF toolbar. A window appears.

5. Click "Convert" inside the window. The RTF file is created and opened inside of your computer's RTF program (For example: "WordPad"). From there you can edit and/or save the file.

PDF to Word

1. Visit the PDF to Word online PDF converter.

2. Click "Browse." A window appears. Click the PDF file you will be changing to Rich Text File format. Click "Open."

3. Click the "RTF" option underneath "Convert PDF file to."

4. Type your email account into the box underneath "Email file to." Click "Convert." The PDF Online service sends you an email once the Rich Text File is made.

5. Open the PDF Online email message. Click the "RTF" file attached at the bottom of that email to save the RTF file on the computer.

Zamzar

1. Go to the Zamzar file converter. Click "Browse." Choose the PDF file, and click "Open."

2. Click inside the "Convert file(s) to" drop-down menu. Select "RTF."

3. Type your email account inside the empty box found next to the "Convert" button. Click "Convert." The Zamzar file converter sends a message to the email account.

4. Open the email, and click the download link found in the message. A new page opens.

5. Click on the "Download Now" option inside the new page in order to save the RTF file on the computer.
