How to Make a CD Case Insert

How to Make a CD Case Insert thumbnail
The CD case insert tells you about the content of the CD.

A CD case insert is basically a sheet of paper, or a booklet, that includes information about the CD inside the case. For example, a musical CD case insert for a particular band will include the band's name, the name of the CD/album that is in the case, the songs/tracks on the CD and maybe even an image or two of the band, or art that the band members feel is relevant to themselves or their album. Making your own CD case insert can be done with software already installed on your computer.

Instructions

    • 1

Open Microsoft Paint by clicking "Start," "All Programs," "Accessories" and "Paint."

    • 2

Select an image to add to your CD case insert by clicking "File," then "Open" then browsing through your computer and clicking on the image you want. Click "Open" to open the image.

    • 3

Select the particular part of the image you want to have on the CD case insert with the "Select" tool on the left side of the screen, then right click on the selected area and click "Cut."

    • 4

Click "File," then "New" to open a new Paint document. Do not save the changes on the image you were just working on.

    • 5

Press and hold the "Ctrl" button on your keyboard, then press "V" to paste the section of the image you cut from the first picture onto the new file. Drag the picture to the location you desire on the page.

    • 6

Click on the "Text" tool on the left side of the screen and drag a box where you want to add the text to your CD insert.

    • 7

Type up the name of the album and the tracks that are on the CD.

    • 8

Click "File," then "Print" to print out the insert you've just created. Fold the sheet of paper so that it fits inside the CD case.
