How to Connect to a Microsoft VPN
Microsoft Windows has the ability to use a virtual private network (VPN) when you are connecting from the operating system out to the Internet. If you want to connect through a VPN, you can set one up in Windows by creating a new VPN connection in the network control center.

Click "Start," click "Control Panel" and then double-click on the "Network Connections" icon.

Click on "Create a new connection," click "Next," click the "Connect to the network at my workplace" option, click "Next," click "Virtual Private Network connection" and then click on the "Next" button again.

Select the "Do not dial the initial connection" option, click "Next," enter a name for the VPN connection, click "Next" and then enter in the VPN address that you want to connect to.

Click on the "Next" button, choose whether you want everyone to use the VPN on your computer or whether you just want to be able to use it, click "Next" and then click on "Finish."

Click on the "Yes" button to open up the VPN connection window. Type in your username and password, click on the "Connect" button and your computer connects to the VPN server.
