Troubleshooting a Hakko 926 Soldering Station
The HAKKO 926 soldering station is subject to many of the same common issues that can arise with soldering iron units. If a problem occurs, diagnostic troubleshooting will help isolate the cause of the problem. Once the source of the issue has been identified, you can determine if the repair or remedy is something you can perform by continuing the troubleshooting process.
Instructions

1
Check the connecting plug if the tip is not heating up. Make sure the plug is securely connected.
-
2
Inspect the cord assembly and heating element if the LED lamp lights up but the soldering tip does not heat. The cord assembly or heating element may be broken.
-
-
3
Inspect the cord assembly if the tip heats up intermittently. This could be caused by a small break in one of the wires in the cord assembly.
-
4
Clean the tip of the iron if the tip will not get wet. Debris on the end can prevent it from wetting. Clean the tip with the cleaning sponge. Too high of a temperature setting could also cause this problem.
-
5
Recalibrate the iron if the tip is not reaching the desired temperature. Set the temperature control dial to 400 degrees Celsius. Turn the power switch on and wait until the LED heater lamp comes on and off. Adjust the temperature of the tip to 400 degrees Celsius by turning the dial marked "CAL" on the bottom of the station using a thermometer.
