The Weber Genesis series of gas grills, offer outdoor cooks a wide, porcelain-enamel clad cast iron or non-clad stainless steel grilling surface housed in a welded stainless steel or colored porcelain-clad stainless steel frame. The grills also feature a warming rack, side burners, built-in thermometer, flavor bars and optional griddle. Instructions

    • 1

Burn off food and brush away the charred buildup from your Weber Genesis gas grill's grate, flavor bars and burners with a steel brush right before each time you use the grill to cook. At the same time, brush buildup from the interior of the lid with a brass brush.

    • 2

Wash the exterior of your Genesis grill, in the direction of the stainless steel grain if not porcelain-clad, with a slightly soapy cloth as needed during the grilling season. Rinse with warm water and wipe completely dry.

    • 3

Remove the bottom tray and catch pan after each use, and clean with mild detergent and a cloth to remove buildup of grease and other debris. Rinse and wipe dry thoroughly.

    • 4

Clean the grates, warming rack, burners and/or griddle once at least every two weeks or as desired with a warm, soapy cloth. If necessary, scrub with a nonabrasive, nylon scrubbing pad or brush. Rinse and wipe dry.

    • 5

Pull the grates and/or griddle from your grill after each wash and season the pieces by applying a thin layer of vegetable oil to surfaces with a paper towel. Preheat the grill for 15 minutes with the burners knobs turned to "Medium-Off-Medium" settings and the lid closed and then open the lid and install the pieces. Close the lid, wait 60 to 90 minutes and turn off the grill.

Tips & Warnings

  • To reduce the amount of cleaning required each season, wipe grease and other debris from the warm lid interior after grilling with a paper towel.

  • Never wash the grates or griddle in a dishwasher as doing so can result in damage. Never use harsh or abrasive cleaners or cleaners containing mineral spirits, acid or xylene.

  • Air-drying any part of your griddle can result in water spots and/or corrosion.

  • Never season the grates or griddle with salted oil.

  • Never use any object (for example, wire or toothpick) to enlarge the burner ports.
