Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) is one of the biggest stock exchanges in the Caribbeans

Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) is the main stock exchange in Jamaica and one of the biggest Caribbean stock exchanges. It was founded in 1968 and has since served as a primary destination for listings of Jamaican companies. Trading on the JSE is conducted by stockbrokers. Individuals and firms who want to buy or sell stocks on the JSE need to find a stockbroker and instruct him to execute a trade for their account.

Instructions

    • 1

Find a stockbroker who is eligible to trade securities on the Jamaica Stock Exchange. You can find a list of eligible stockbrokers on the JSE's website (http://www.jamstockex.com). Choose a stockbroker that has the most expertise and experience in trading stocks you are most interested in (e.g., mining stocks). Make sure you can trust your stockbroker by investigating their regulatory record.

    • 2

Analyze the annual financial reports of the issuing companies. Use the opinions of experts, such as equity analysts, to help you make your trading decisions.

    • 3

Place an order with your stockbroker to buy or sell a specified amount of stock. The Jamaica Stock Exchange allows your broker to make your order in oral form or in writing. Your broker will execute the trade for you and deposit the shares in your account.
