How to Get Rid of Mold in Magazines or Books
Mold and mildew thrive in damp, warm environments. Books and magazines are susceptible to mold growth because the spores are able to feed off the paper and the pages make a snug hiding place when the book or magazine is closed. Ventilate any home or building that has a high amount of mold growth before trying to remove mold from items within. Running a dehumidifier will also help to take some of the moisture out of the air. Once you have the atmospheric conditions under control, you can start the mold removal. Does this Spark an idea?

Stand the books or magazines on their end with the pages fanned out. Place a towel underneath them if the books are wet as the water will seep from the pages. An oscillating fan will help to circulate air and dry the pages faster.

Use a vacuum with a HEPA filter to vacuum the pages and along the edges of the pages. If you do not have a vacuum with a HEPA filter, use an electrostatic duster or some lightly adhesive tape to gently lift the mold spores.
