How to Get a Business License in Las Vegas
Any individual or firm operating a place of business within the corporate limits of Las Vegas must hold a license issued by the Department of Finance and Business Services. City licenses must be obtained before opening or transferring ownership of any business, and are renewed annually. Some types of businesses, such as those that serve alcohol or provide child care services, must hold other forms of certification (such as a health permit) in order to receive a city business license. Business license requests typically take 30 to 60 days to process.

The city government charges first-time applicants a $30 fee for each new application, in addition to the standard licensing fees for their type of business. Licensing fees range from $25 to $1,200 per license, and must be paid at the time that the application is submitted.
