Instructions

    • 1

Put on a pair of slippery socks. Find a slippery floor to practice on.

    • 2

Stand with your feet fairly close together and in line with one another, with your left foot slightly ahead of the right foot. Lift the heel of your right foot. Place all of your weight on the ball of your right foot.

    • 3

Lower your right heel slowly. As you lower your right heel, pull your left foot backward in a gliding motion. Do not place any weight on your left foot. Allow your left foot to glide back until the toe of your left foot and heel of your right foot are lined up.

    • 4

Kick out to the side with your left foot just as it comes to its final point in the glide. During the kick, make sure your foot remains level. Your foot should be so low that you can't tell whether or not it is actually touching the ground.

    • 5

Switch sides and practice the sequence with the opposite foot. Once you have both sides perfect, connect the moments with a small body roll for eight or more counts.
