1
Trim your natural nails to the base of your fingertips. After you have done this, open your nail tip box; the box will contain a number of nail tips in different sizes. Experiment with placing each of the sizes on each of your fingers. They should not overlap of hang off the sides of your fingernail tips. Once you are satisfied with the tip sizes for each of your nails, you may begin gluing them to the tips of your natural nails. Apply the glue to the nail's tip, and then press it down on your finger firmly. Let the glue dry on each of your fingers before moving on.

Trim the nail tips that you have just applied down to your desired length using nail clippers. File down any rough or uneven edges to shape your nails. After you have done this, take your nail file and gently file down the top of your nails focusing on where the fake nail tip meets your nail bed. There should be a smooth line between them, which will make them look natural.

Apply primer to your nail beds; this is going to prepare them for the acrylic overlay. Begin gathering a small amount of acrylic nail liquid onto your brush, and then dip this brush into the acrylic powder. Be sure to only grab a tiny amount. Gently lay the bead onto the middle of your nail, pat it down with the brush, and gently slide your brush to the tip of your nail. Lightly swipe your acrylic brush onto a paper towel and dip it back into the liquid, then into the acrylic powder. Apply another coat of what is on your brush onto the sides of your nail using the same technique, do this until your nail is completely covered in acrylic. Move onto each nail repeating this same process.

Put on a filing drill bit onto your nail drill. Slowly begin to file your nails one at a time by moving the drill bit side to side. This will begin to take off layers of the thick acrylic surface that has been placed onto your nails, so your acrylics will not look too bulky. Continue buffing each nail down until they are thin and natural looking. Also use your drill bit on the sides, underside and tips of each nails to file down any bumpy acrylic that may be present.

Paint your smoothed down acrylics with a coat of clear nail polish. Once the polish has dried, you may go and wash your hands to remove any acrylic powder that may still be on them. You can choose to paint your new acrylics a color or leave them as they are.

Tips & Warnings
Make sure to do this project in a well-lit area, and only use tools that are clean.
Doing your own acrylic nails can result in serious injury if you are not careful. Do not use a nail drill on your nails for too long as it can wear down your natural nails or cause irritation to the sides of your cuticles.
