How to Get Rid of Non Permanent Hair Dye
Temporary hair dye can be used to liven up a Halloween costume or as a way to allow a person to depart from his everyday look, if only for a day. Unfortunately, a wild temporary hair color may not be appropriate for the workplace. Temporary hair color is supposed to wash away with shampoo and warm water, but this doesn't always remove every trace of the unwanted color. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- 1 cup water
- 5 cups rubbing alcohol
- Cotton balls
- Mineral oil
- Plastic shower cap
- Blow dryer
- Hood dryer
- Clarifying shampoo
- Deep conditioning treatment

Combine one cup of water and five cups of rubbing alcohol.

Soak several cotton balls into the mixture.

Divide the affected hair into sections and rub each with the cotton balls, making sure to avoid getting the rubbing alcohol mixture directly onto the hair.

Soak several cotton balls with mineral oil.

Rub the hair sections with the saturated cotton balls. Do not rinse the alcohol mixture before applying the mineral oil.

Place a plastic shower cap onto your head.

Apply direct heat to your head for at least 30 minutes. This can be accomplished with a hair dryer or a hood dryer, if available.

Remove the cap and work clarifying shampoo through the hair.

Rinse the rubbing alcohol, oil and shampoo from the hair with warm water.

Apply a deep conditioning treatment to the hair. The temporary hair dye and products used to remove it will strip the hair of moisture.

Rinse the conditioning treatment from the hair and style and normal.
