Jacuzzi Fiberglass Repair
A Jacuzzi tub is a fine addition to the home because it helps you relax. However, cracks in the surface of the Jacuzzi cause undue stress. If you want to repair a fiberglass Jacuzzi, bear in mind that the crack is forming in the acrylic layer of the tub. The fiberglass underneath is virtually indestructible. Things You'll Need
- Household cleaner or degreaser
- Sandpaper
- Clean rag
- Jacuzzi tub repair kit (Plast-aid or similar)
- Mixing stick
- Scraper

Clean the surface around the crack with a degreaser or household cleaner. Sand the area around the crack to remove burrs and flaking paint until the area is smooth. Wipe the residue off with a clean rag and dry the area.

Mix the resin and hardener in the repair kit inside of the provided cup. Follow the mixing directions, using enough of the compound to cover twice the surface area of the scratch. Mix the compound thoroughly.

Apply the compound to the surface of the tub. Scoop some of the compound onto a scraper and then wipe it over the damaged area. Scrape off the excess with the edge of the scraper to create a smooth, flat surface to your repair. Allow the product to dry as indicated by the manufacturer.

Sand the surface of the repair with 200-grit sandpaper on a flat sanding block dipped in water. Sand to smooth out the surface of the repair and remove lumps, or divots in the patch. Perform this until you are satisfied with the finish.

Tips & Warnings
To match the color of the repair material to your tub, add acrylic based paint to the compound and mix thoroughly.
