How to Create a Resume for Nursing Jobs
When you are creating a resume for nursing jobs, include all of your general information such as name, address and contract information. Prepare a resume that is grammatically correct and error free to generate an impression of a nurse who is well-rounded and efficient. Use resume paper to print your finished product and attach copies of certifications and awards.

State your objective as a nurse to your potential employer. Write it as if you were speaking directly to the person reading it. Include in your objective what type of profession you are seeking, such as emergency room care or hospice.

List your certifications. Whether you are a licensed practical nurse (LPN) or a registered nurse (RN), include your license number and state on your nursing resume. Include any certifications in this section, titled "License and Certifications."

Enter your educational background in nursing. Include the type of degree, such as associate's degree in nursing or bachelor of science nursing, you received, the college you attended and what date you graduated. Include your score on your NCLEX exam if it is a good score.

Refer to specific skills you posses that are related to the nursing field. This includes such skills as taking vital signs and obtaining laboratory specimens. Include any specialized skills you may have received from training such as pediatric care.

Include previous employers that relate to the medical field on your nursing resume. Even if they were before you became a nurse, medical experience is helpful. Also, list any civic clubs or programs you participate in. Offer any information that makes you stand out as a nurse.
