How to Find the Recall Information on a Maytag Dishwasher

Find out if your Maytag dishwasher is subject to a recall.

Maytag dishwashers, under several brand names, have been subject to recall in 2010. Finding information on recall or repair notices is a simple process that will help get your appliance back on the job. Information about recalled Maytag, Amana, Jenn-Air, Admiral, Magic Chef, Performa by Maytag and Crosley brand dishwashers is just a mouse click or phone call away.

Instructions

1. Find the model and serial number of your dishwasher. You will need to know this to obtain recall information. Open the door of the dishwasher; the model and serial numbers are located just inside the tub on the left-hand side. You will also need to provide some personal information, such as phone number, address and email address, in order to schedule repairs in case your dishwasher is subject to a recall.

2. Visit the Maytag website. Maytag lists all recalled products on its website, including dishwashers.

3. Call Maytag's customer service at 1-800-544-5513 for more information and personal assistance. The customer service agents will be able to determine if your machine is affected by the recall and let you know what to do to obtain repairs or replacement.

4. Contact the dealer where you purchased the dishwasher. Dealers may not be able to offer repair but often keep track of recall information and contact numbers and manufacturer websites.

5. Call the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission for information regarding this and other recalls at 1-800-638-2772. You can also visit Recalls.gov, a multi-agency government website listing product recalls nationwide.
