Most electronic typewriters come with a feature that allows you to correct errors made when you are typing. In order for this feature to work, you must use correction tape. The correction tape comes installed in a typewriter. When the tape has been used up, you must replace it in order to continue using the correction feature.

      Press the release lever to open the top cover of the typewriter. The exact location of the release lever will vary by typewriter model.

      Lift and remove the cartridge that is holding the typewriter ribbon (black ribbon).

      Locate the correction tape wheel on the left side. The correction tape is the white tape.

      Lift the correction tape off of the spool. Remove it from the typewriter.

      Place the new correction tape into the typewriter. Place the wheel that has the roll of tape on the left spool. Place the other empty wheel on the right spool. Ensure that the sticky side of the correction tape is facing the platen (roller).

      Tighten the correction tape by turning the empty wheel counter clockwise. Do not over-tighten the tape. Tighten it to the point that there is no slack remaining in the tape.

      Replace the cartridge of typewriter ribbon and close the typewriter cover.
