Typing from home is fast becoming a booming market for anyone who wants to earn a little extra income without leaving the comfort of his or her home. Moms with small children, college students, disabled persons, and the elderly are just a few of the people that have jobs typing from home.
There are several things that you can type from home, term papers for college students, resumes for prospective job hunters, fliers for local businesses, menus for neighborhood restaurants, ghostwriting for websites, blog posts for bloggers, the list goes on and on.

Create fliers and business cards to post on college bulletin boards, grocery store bulletin boards, and on telephone poles in your area using your word processing software. Make sure your phone number or e-mail address is clearly visible and that you list the typing services that you provide. In your printed materials, stress the benefits of using your services, such as, fast and efficient service, low cost, satisfaction guaranteed, error free documents, and the like.

Visit local businesses in your area and offer your services. If they are not interested, ask them if you may leave some business cards on the counter or with them, in case they have customers who may need your typing services.

Carry samples of your work when you visit local businesses. For instance, if you type resumes, carry a sample of a resume you typed. If you are just starting out and have not typed for a customer, create any typed document to show to your prospective clients.
