Drawing a cartoon fox can be done easily.

Art is a personal activity that allows the artist to express himself in a myriad of different ways. Drawing is a good way of getting kids involved in art and there are many different options for keeping kids interested in it. One effective method is drawing animals. You can use basic shapes to draw a large number of different creatures that kids love. For example, you can draw a fox in seconds using simple shapes and adding detail and color.

Instructions

    • 1

Use dash marks to lightly draw a rectangle with your pencil. This will be used as the body for your fox.

    • 2

Draw two upside-down triangles next to each other on both the lower left and lower right corners of the rectangle. These will be the four legs so keep them slender in design. Use dash marks again since it's easier to correct mistakes and you'll outline them later.

    • 3

Add a larger upside-down triangle to the right of the upper right corner of the rectangle to create the fox's head. The top of the triangle should be equal to the top of the rectangle. Draw a small triangle at both top corners of the head. These are the ears so they will be right-side up.

    • 4

Draw a semicircle to the left of the upper left corner of the rectangle. The flat plane of the semicircle should be facing up and be equal to the top of the rectangle. This will form the fox's tail.

    • 5

Trace over your dash marks once you are satisfied with your shapes to fully form the fox's head and body.

    • 6

Add details to the fox to make the shapes look furry, and draw in facial features, such as whiskers. Color as needed with crayons to make your fox more personalized.
