With prices soaring and child labor laws enforced, it can be difficult for a kid to buy the latest technologies, go to the movies or even pay for school lunches. However, running your own business provides a way to earn money that is both legal and easy. If you are under the age of 10 you can earn money with an adult's assistance. Children at least 10 years old can make money with minimal adult supervision, if any.

Always pick up dog waste Determine what skills you have and how you can use them to make money. If you enjoy animals, start a dog-walking business or begin pet-sitting for friends and family, or offer to clean up after the dogs. If you enjoy little kids, become a parent's helper or babysitter. You can comfortably charge between $2.00 and $7.00 for babysitting, either per child or per hour, depending on your age and experience. You can bill $3.00 to $25.00 for mowing lawns, $1.00 to $5.00 to wash a car and up to $5.00 for pulling weeds. Prices for cold beverages will range between $1.00 for lemonade, up to $2.50 for a cold bottle of water.
