How to Install Font

Windows font installation has evolved over time with the quickest and easiest process coming with Windows 7. When you need a special font for a presentation or invitation, you can install it from an outside source within a few minutes. Make sure that you can trust the source of the new font, since fonts, like other pieces of content, can easily have a virus attached to them.

      Open the location where the new font resides.

      Double-click the new font.

      Click the "Install" button in the top-left corner of the interface.

    Windows Vista

      Click your "Start" button.

      Click the "Control Panel." Choose "Appearance and Personalization," and select "Fonts."

      Click the "File" drop-down menu and select "Install New Font." Press the "Alt" key if you do not see the "File" menu.

      Click the drive letter in the interface where the new font or fonts are located. Click the folder and highlight the fonts you want to install that appear in the list of fonts. To select more than one font, press your "Ctrl" key as you highlight the fonts in the list.

    Windows XP

      Click the "Start" button.

      Select "Run," and type "%windir%\fonts" in the field. Pressr "Enter."

      Click the "File" drop-down menu. Scroll down and click "Install New Font."

      Click the drive letter in the interface where the new font or fonts are located. Select the folder and highlight the fonts in the list that appears. To select more than one font, press the "Ctrl" key as you highlight the fonts in the list.

      Put a check mark in the check box next to "Copy Fonts To Fonts Folder." Click "OK."
