How to Wire a Weed Trimmer

      Lay the trimmer on a flat surface so no gas or oil will spill onto the ground.

      Remove the trimmer spool, located at the bottom of the machine. Push in the two buttons on the head to make the spool will pop out.

      Clean any extra pieces of wire or dirt that might be inside the spool. Cut a 14-inch piece of weed trimmer line.

      Fit one end of the new string onto the the spool's clip. Wrap the rest of the line clockwise around the spool until a few inches are left.

      Slide the open end of line through the cutting head's eyelet. Snap the spool back into the head.

Tips & Warnings

  • Most trimmer line sizes are carried at any hardware store.

  • Never turn the weed trimmer upside down. This will cause the oil to clog parts of the motor.
