How to Learn Easy English Grammar
If you are learning English as a second language, the grammar may seem difficult. However, you can learn the basic structures of English in four to six months. If you use your study time wisely and practice every chance you can, you soon will know enough grammar to speak and write in English properly.

1
Take an English class that focuses on the basic grammar. To learn simple grammar, try a general English class, a conversation class or a noncredit class rather than an academic writing class. If you want to study on your own, choose an audio course or software program that emphasizes practical communication.
-
2
Make sure you understand the grammar rules, but try to memorize the examples so you learn real language.

3
Focus on the most important forms, including nouns, pronouns and verbs. You need to know the simple past, simple present and present progressive tenses. Also learn the future with "going to." You can say nearly everything with these tenses, so leave the more difficult tenses for later.
-
4
Learn faster by doing extra reading and listening in English. Listen to recordings or watch English television and movies. Read stories in English. Language expert S.D. Krashen says that listening and reading will help you learn grammar automatically.
-
5
Practice your English out loud; don't just think it. This includes your drills and dialogs.
-
6
Speak and write in English as often as possible. Ask friends and acquaintances to practice English with you. Buy a small notebook and write in English for a few minutes every day.
-
7
Learn from your mistakes. Read your notebook once in a while to make corrections. Ask your teacher or friends to correct you when you speak. Remember that mistakes are normal, so don't be discouraged. Keep practicing, and your English grammar will improve.
