How to Advertise Rentals
When your property is ready to be rented, it is time to advertise for tenants. You may advertise your property online, in area newspapers or through the use of For Rent signs. You can advertise your rentals by using eye-catching language, stating the amenities that sell the property and by providing an easy way for prospective tenants to contact you.

1
Write down information about your rental property that you will need for your ad. This should include the number of bedrooms, bathrooms and total square footage, the age the property, appliances and other included amenities, the monthly cost, the required security deposit, the length of the lease and contact information about how people can find out more information or schedule a walk-through of the property.

2
Write your phone number on a For Rent sign and place the sign in the window or yard of the property.

Write a classified ad for your rental and place the ad in a local newspaper. The headline of your newspaper ad should be the location, city or neighborhood in which the property is located, as this is how many people search for properties to rent. The ad should be short but informative, including the number of bedrooms and bathrooms included, any eye-catching amenities included, the amount of the monthly rent and a phone number at which prospective tenants may call you. Call the classified ad department at your local newspaper and read the ad that you wrote to the representative. Provide her with your credit card number. Ask for the rates for advertising your rental. An ad in the Sunday newspaper will be seen by more prospective tenants than an ad placed in the newspaper's other editions.

Advertise the rental using an online property rental website. Sign up for an account with the website by clicking on Register, providing personal information like your name, address, phone number and credit card number. Some rental websites charge based on each month that you advertise; others charge a set fee for each ad you post. Select the payment methods that that best suit your needs. Create your ad by providing detailed information about your rental, such as the street address, size, number of rooms, amenities on the property, leasing information, monthly rental price and security deposit amount. Write an eyecatching title for your ad that showcases your property's best features. Provide an email address or phone number where you can be reached.
