The MyWebSearch toolbar is a free search utility designed to integrate with your Web browser and provide quick access to various search engines and up to 200 personalized links. The MyWebSearch toolbar is designed for Internet Explorer versions 5.0 and higher. If you wish you can uninstall the MyWebSearch toolbar from the Windows Control Panel or remove it manually with the Windows Registry Editor.

Instructions

  1. Control Panel Uninstallation

      Access the Control Panel from the Windows Start menu. Click either the Add or Remove Programs icon or the "Uninstall a program" link, depending on your version of Windows.

      Select MyWebSearch Toolbar in the programs list and click the "Uninstall" button in the top toolbar. Follow the steps in the Uninstallation Wizard to remove the MyWebSearch toolbar from your computer.

      Restart the computer and verify that the MyWebSearch toolbar has been removed by searching for MyWebSearch Toolbar in the list of installed programs given in the Add or Remove Programs window. If these steps did not completely remove the MyWebSearch toolbar, manual removal may be necessary.

    Manual Removal

      Delete all the files and folders created by the MyWebSearch toolbar, including the installation file. The complete MyWebSearch toolbar file and folder list can be found at the Exterminate It! website (see References).

      Open the Run dialog by opening the Windows Start menu and clicking Run. Type "regedit" (without the quotation marks) into the Run dialog and click the "OK" button. This will open the Windows Registry Editor.

      Delete all the registry values created by the MyWebSearch toolbar. The full list of registry files can be found at the Exterminate It! website (see References).

      Restart the computer once you have finished deleting all the MyWebSearch toolbar files, folders and registry values. This will complete the manual removal process.

Tips & Warnings

  • Do not delete any registry values that you are not specifically instructed to remove; this may result in missing or corrupted registry entries.
