How to Process Rebates for Large Companies From Home

Rebate processing jobs do exist, but it is not as easy as some websites make it seem. You may have to do your own marketing of your own skills to local companies that have rebates that need to be processed. This may require a lot of networking and it may take time to find a legitimate processing job and to convince the employer to let you do the work from home.

1. Check with your local businesses to find companies that offer rebates to customers. Some companies handle their own rebates, taking the forms in via email, entering the material into a computer. Some work with a processing company, which may or may not be in the same area.

2. Create a resume or sales letter stating why you would like to handle the rebate processing. Information in the letter or resume may include your desire to save the company money, the security of the information you may provide, and why they should hire you. What experience you have will be important to list.

3. Make an appointment with the companies you've found. Ask for a good time to come in and share your idea. This is your opportunity to sell yourself.

4. Prepare a sales pitch. Practice this with a friend, asking for feedback. You may want to relate your work experience, reiterate the information contained in your resume, and why they should hire you to work from home doing their rebate processing.

5. Avoid what may seem like an easy processing job, by learning from the Federal Trade Commission and other sources what a fake work-at-home rebate processing job looks like. Real rebate processing jobs are in short supply. You will need to be aware of what is legit and what isn't.
