Instructions

  1. Wrap Square or Rectangular Gifts

    • 1

Place a dish towel on a flat surface with the pattern facing down. If the dish towels are thin, place two together.

    • 2

Set the gift upside-down in the center of the dish towels.

    • 3

Fold the dish towels over the gift by bringing the sides of the towels over the gift tightly. Fold in the left and right sides next to enclose the gift. This will be the bottom of the gift.

    • 4

Cut enough ribbon to wrap around the gift three times.

    • 5

Find the center of the ribbon and drape it over the bottom of the gift. Turn the gift over onto its bottom.

    • 6

Pull the ribbons around the gift to the top and meet them at the top center. Twist the ribbons together once and separate them. Wrap the ribbons around the other two sides of the gift and turn it over again.

    • 7

Meet the ribbons in the bottom center of the gift. Twist the ribbons together once and separate them. Wrap the ribbons around the gift again back up to the top center point of the gift, turning the gift over as you wrap the ribbons.

    • 8

Tie the ribbons into a pretty bow on the top of the gift.

    Wrap a Wine Bottle

    • 9

Place a dish towel onto a flat surface with the wrong side facing up. Double the dish towel if you can see through it.

    • 10

Lay the wine bottle onto the dish towel so the top of the bottle is even with one long edge of the towel.

    • 11

Fold up the dish towel around the bottom of the wine bottle to enclose it.

    • 12

Roll up the wine bottle within the dish towel until you come to the end of the towel. Set the wine bottle onto the flat surface.

    • 13

Cut a 12-inch length of ribbon. Tie the ribbon around the neck of the wine bottle to secure the dish towel. Make a bow with the ribbon or allow the tails to hang down from the knot.

Tips & Warnings

  • If your gift is too large for one dish towel, use several and secure with ribbon.
