How to Build a MSN Website
An MSN website, formerly referred to as MSN Spaces but since changed to Windows Live Spaces, is a quick option for creating your own personalized website for free. Windows Live Spaces offer options for sharing your photos, writing a blog, or sharing your list of the greatest movies of all time. The sign up process is simple and getting started is easy with the guided process offered by the website. All that's needed is an email address if you don't already have an MSN or Windows Live account.

1
Navigate to the Windows Live Spaces website. If you have a Windows Live, XBox Live, MSN Messenger or Hotmail account log in and skip step 2.
-
2
Click the Sign up link and fill in the necessary information. You'll need an email address for this step. Read the service agreement and privacy statement, then click the I Accept button. Navigate to your email account and open the Windows Live confirmation email. Click the confirmation link in the email. Once your address is verified click Ok. Navigate to the Windows Live Spaces website again and login if necessary.

3
Click the Create your Space link. Across the top will be several icons for a guided setup of your space. Click Choose web address. Select a URL for your website and check availability. You cannot change this address once it is set, so choose carefully. Once you confirm the URL you want you'll be returned to the previous page.

4
Click Edit profile to set personal information about yourself. Here you can also set the visibility of the profile. It defaults to everyone. Do keep in mind that any information you share on the internet, regardless of privacy settings you choose, may become publicly available. If there is any information you do not want to potentially become public knowledge, the best policy is not to share it, even if the space you're sharing it on is supposed to be private. Return to the previous page.
-
5
Click on the Share Photos button and create an album. Once you've created the album you'll be asked to upload photos to it. Select a photo or two of yourself on your computer and upload them. If you do not wish to share photos of yourself skip this step.
-
6
Click the Add a Blog Entry button to write a short introductory post about yourself. Publish the entry. After you write the blog entry you also have the option of inviting friends to view your space. You can also create lists for your Windows Live Space. Explore the options on this page to see how you can customize your Windows Live Space to fit your needs.
