How to Prevent Addon Toolbars in IE

Certain programs that you install on your machine may attempt to add dedicated toolbars to the Internet Explorer Web browser. These toolbars will be at the top of the screen and will take away from the viewing area of your monito. If you want to prevent programs from being able to do this, open Internet Explorer and lock the toolbars, which keeps them in their existing state.

Instructions

1. Click "Start."

2. Click "All Programs."

3. Click "Internet Explorer."

4. Right-click on your Internet Explorer toolbar at the top of the screen.

5. Click "Lock the Toolbars." This will prevent new software from being able to add toolbars to the Internet Explorer Web browser.
