How to Delete Websites From Files
When you delete your Internet history, the list of websites you have visited are not truly deleted from your computer files. They are stored in a hidden file that is called the index.dat file. This file keeps a record of all the activity, including deleted files, conducted on your computer. Therefore, to truly delete websites from files you have to delete the index.dat file.

Tips & Warnings
If you'd prefer, you can click on the index.dat file to select it and then press the "Delete" (Del) key on your keyboard to delete it.
You cannot delete the index.dat file without creating another administrative account because your computer will not let you delete a file that is in use, and when you are logged into your account, the index.dat file is in use.
