DIY Magnetic Jewelry
Magnetic jewelry has become increasingly popular recently, due to claims that magnets promote health benefits and healing. Regardless of whether wearing magnetic jewelry can make you healthier, the length of these pieces of jewelry makes them attractive and versatile. Often, magnetic jewelry pieces can be 30 to 36 inches long, so they can be worn as thin belt, doubled up to make a necklace, or wrapped around your wrist several times to create a bracelet.
Things You'll Need

1
Design your jewelry, placing a magnetic bead at least every 1 to 2 inches. If you space out the magnets significantly more than that, your jewelry will not hold together as well and the layers may come apart. You can find a bewildering selection of magnetic beads online, so you can actually make pieces out of 100 percent magnetic beads if you want to.

2
Purchase a strong beading cord, such as Accuflex beading wire or Tigertail wire. Magnetic beads tend to be quite heavy, and these wires can support the weight and drape of these beads better than doubled up beading string.

3
Slide a crimp bead and a bead tip onto the wire. Then loop the wire above the bead tip and add a second crimp bead onto the doubled-up portion of the wire.
-
4
Fasten both crimps to the wire with crimping pliers, and then use a dot of superglue or craft glue to secure the crimps permanently. Close the bead tip with pliers. Normal necklaces only require one crimp bead at the end. However, since magnetic beads are quite heavy, you should use this double-crimp method here to ensure that your jewelry doesn't break.
-
5
String your beads onto the wire or cord in the repeating pattern that you selected. If the end of your wire or cord begins to fray, you can wrap a small piece of tape around its end to keep the strands together.
-
6
Repeat Step 4 with the other end of the cord to secure all of your beads onto the wire
-
7
Add two jump rings onto one bead tip and a lobster clasp onto the other bead tip to complete your chain. While it may be tempting to use magnetic clasps, they probably are not strong enough to hold the weight of magnetic beads around your neck.
-
8
Wait a few hours for the glue to dry before you wear your new jewelry.
