Instructions

  1. Finger Wrapping Technique

    • 1

Wash your hair with a volumizing shampoo and conditioner. Comb out any tangles and dry thoroughly with a towel.

    • 2

Apply curl boosting gel to hands and run your fingers through your hair. If you have really thick or long hair, do this a couple of times to ensure all of your stands get coated.

    • 3

Let your hair dry a little bit more so that it is in that in between stage of not being sopping wet but still being damp.

    • 4

Begin taking 1- to 2-inch sections of your hair and twist them securely around your finger. Hold for a few seconds and spritz you finger with a little mega hold hairspray. Release hair, letting it fall in a twist.

    • 5

Do this to the remaining pieces of hair, and continue twisting random pieces of hair as your hair air dries. Once dry you should have some nice waves in it.

    Bobby Pin Technique

    • 6

Wash your hair, again use a volumizing shampoo and conditioner. Comb it and soak up any excess moisture with a towel.

    • 7

Apply curl boosting gel as you did before, remembering to apply a few times if you have thick or long hair.

    • 8

Start wrapping a small section of hair around your finger and twist it up to your scalp. Then take a bobby pin and secure the twist at your scalp. Do this with the rest of your hair until all hair is pinned up.

    • 9

Begin blow drying hair on a low blast setting, with high heat. You can also opt to let hair air dry, but this will take much longer.

    • 10

Remove bobby pins and let hair fall down. Shake your head back and forth a few times and run your fingers through your hair to unravel any twists. Spray with a little mega hold hairspray.

    Overnight Technique

    • 11

Wash and towel dry hair before bed, or in the morning if you've got a lot of time to let hair dry. Again use volumizing products when washing.

    • 12

Section off your hair into three sections, one on each side and one at the back of your head.

    • 13

Braid each section, starting as close to the scalp and braiding outward to the ends. Secure with a hair tie, and go to sleep.

    • 14

Blow dry your braided sections for about 5 to 10 minutes in the morning on high blast and high heat.

    • 15

Remove hair ties and undo sections, shaking your head and running fingers through hair once or twice to comb through waves. Spray with hairspray and you are good to go.
