How to Fix the Windows Live Mesenger Auto Sign Out

Windows Live Messenger sometimes will automatically sign you out. Typically this is because Windows Live Messenger is set by default to sign in automatically at start-up, so if another computer starts up and it has your Windows Live information stored, you will be logged out of your current session. You want to keep this from happening because you do not want someone else having access to your contacts and information stored by the program.

Instructions

    • 1

Open and log in to your Windows Live Messenger program.

    • 2

      Click “Show Menu.”

    • 3

Click on “Tools,” then select “Options.”

    • 4

Choose “Sign In” from the left side of the options screen.

    • 5

Uncheck the top three “General” options. Deselecting these will keep your Messenger from signing in automatically, which will also keep you from signing out automatically.
