Glue is a form of an adhesive that sticks the item to many different surfaces. Stickers, decals, tape and labels use a sticky glue on one side to adhere itself to items. Sometimes the adhesive—or glue—will leave behind a residue on the surface that the item was stuck on. This glue can keep a tacky or sticky feeling for weeks after the decal, tape or label has been removed. Fortunately, there a several home remedies for removing the glue from the shower wall.
Petroleum Jelly Method

Step 1
Apply petroleum jelly directly onto the glue residue.

Allow the petroleum jelly to sit on the shower for about 1 hour.
Step 3
Saturate a cloth in hot water. Rub the petroleum jelly into the sticky glue with the hot cloth.
Step 4
Fold the cloth and wipe the jelly and glue off of the shower. Repeat the process until the glue is gone.
Vinegar and Baking Soda Method
Step 1
Soak paper towels in undiluted white vinegar.
Step 2
Press the towel against the glue so that the paper towels stick to the shower. Leave the paper towels to sit on the glue spot for several hours. Reapply the vinegar when the towels become dry.
Step 3
Dampen a sponge with cool water. Sprinkle baking soda on top of the sponge.
Step 4
Remove the paper towels and rub the area with the sponge. Continue rubbing until the glue is gone.
Water-Displacing Spray Method
Step 1
Apply water-displacing spray directly to the glue. Allow to sit on the shower for several minutes.
Step 2
Rub the area with a damp cloth. Reapply water-displacing spray and continue rubbing until the glue comes off the shower.
Step 3
Rinse the area with cool water.
Cream of Tartar and Hydrogen Peroxide Method
Step 1
Pour 2 tsp. of hydrogen peroxide into a small container. Add 4 to 6 tsp. of cream of tartar. Combine the two until a thick paste forms.
Step 2
Apply the paste directly on top of the glue.
Step 3
Cover the paste with plastic wrap and secure the edges to the shower wall with tape. Allow the paste to sit for 1 hour. Remove the plastic wrap.
Step 4
Dampen a cloth or sponge in cool water. Rub the paste with the cloth until the glue is removed from the shower wall.
Step 5
Rinse the shower wall clean.
