Instructions

    • 1

Apply a layer of clear, moisturizing lip balm to your lips. This will make your lip gloss application last longer and go on more evenly as well. You can also use a thin layer of petroleum jelly instead.

    • 2

Use a lipstick that is a shade darker than your gloss. If you have clear gloss, use a shade that's natural, like a nude or peach color. Apply the lipstick starting from the inside of your lips and stopping just before your lips' outline.

    • 3

Use a lip liner that is a shade darker than your lipstick and apply it to the outline of your lips. To make lips look fuller, do not extend the liner to the corners of your mouth. This will draw attention to the center of your lips.

Take a lip gloss brush and dip it in the gloss or squeeze a small amount of gloss onto the brush. Apply it to your lips in even strokes, starting from the inside and working your way to your lips' outline.

Tips & Warnings

  • Another way to get gloss to pop is to use a little bit of loose shimmer powder and mix it with a small amount of your gloss, then apply it. This will give your lips a little bit of sparkle.

  • For a natural look, line your lips with a nude liner, then apply a peach lip gloss to the center of your lips.

  • If you over-apply gloss, or it's too thick, simply take a tissue and put it between your lips and press your lips together once.

  • If your lips are too shiny, apply a tissue over them and sprinkle a little translucent powder onto the tissue. Little bits of powder will make it through the tissue's fibers and onto your lips, cutting the shine.
