How to Care for the Fringe Tips of Hair

How to Care for the Fringe Tips of Hair thumbnail
Take care of fringe tips to maintain your hair's length.

The ends of your hair, also known as the fringe tips, are the most delicate part of your hair as it is the oldest hair and is prone to split ends if it is not properly maintained. Whereas new hair growth receives the most moisture from your scalp's natural oils, your ends can dry out easily if the natural oils are not evenly distributed. If left uncared for, your fringe tips can split and damage the entire hair strand. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Massage your hair with shampoo while in the shower, focusing on the ends and working your way to your roots.

    • 2

Gently rinse the shampoo out of your hair, and saturate your hair with a moisturizing conditioner. Apply extra conditioner to the ends, and wait at least five minutes before rinsing it out of your hair.

    • 3

Coat your hair with a deep conditioner, and allow it to stay on your hair for at least 30 minutes. For maximum moisturizing, cover your hair in a plastic cap. The heat from your scalp allows the conditioner to absorb into your hair to seal in moisture.

    • 4

Rinse the deep conditioner out of your hair, and apply hair serum to your hair starting from the middle of your hair and working your way to the ends. The roots of your hair will be replenished with moisture naturally.

Tips & Warnings

  • Avoid applying heat to your ends, as they are most susceptible to heat damage.

  • Apply one to two drops of hair serum to your hair's ends daily to maintain moisture.

  • Visit your hair stylist for regular end trimming to keep your ends fresh.
