How to Pay Your Mississippi County Land Taxes
Tax assessors determine Mississippi county land tax by the value of the land belonging to the owner or the current possessor. The rate depends on the amount of money needed within the county at that time. Once paid, the taxes aid schools and city and county governments. This amount is subject to change every four years when tax assessors reassess the land value. Mississippi property and land tax is due February 1st of each year. If the office is not open on this date, you may pay your taxes the following business day without penalty.
