      Apply for the Florida Certified Pest Control Operator Examination. Contact The Bureau of Entomology and Pest Control for an application to take the examination. Return your application by mail with your photograph and examination fees prior to the established deadline. The exam is given quarterly to qualified applicants.

      Pass the Florida Pest Control Operator Exam. You will be scheduled to take the examination and must score a passing grade.

      Obtain insurance for your pest control business. According to Florida law, you will be required to maintain insurance coverage for bodily injury and property damage that may result from the operation of your pest control business.

      Submit your application for a pest control business license along with the appropriate fees. A certified pest control operator for your company is required to sign the application for your business license. File an application using the forms provided on the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services website.
