How to Repair a Door Knob
Repairing a modern door knob that has been damaged is a little like darning a sock---it simply isn't done anymore. Self-contained modern latching systems install all at once, and each has specialized knob assemblies that are not sold separately. However, if you have an old latch system, the kind with separate knobs that sit on a square metal spindle, and the knobs are loose and unresponsive, repair is easy. It's a simple matter of replacing the spindle, which allows you to keep that great old knob. Does this Spark an idea?
