      Perform a scan. Go to the top of the window and click "Scan" to initiate the scanning process. The length of the scan will primarily depend on the amount of files on your computer.

      Delete all viruses. After the scan has been completed, Windows Defender will give you the option to remove viruses. After removing the viruses, restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
