Instructions

    • 1

Comb out hair, removing any tangles that may be in it. This look is easiest to achieve with straight hair, so straighten hair with a straightening iron if you need to beforehand.

    • 2

Spray a hairbrush with some hairspray and brush your hair back from the front, so that it is smooth and sleek.

    • 3

Put you headband on, gliding it over your forehead and pushing it a few inches past your hairline. You can push it back forward, towards your hairline, to add some volume in front of your headband, or just pull it back and leave it flat.

    • 4

Comb hair at the center of the top of your head to either side of your head gently, so as not to mess up your headband.

    • 5

Tease your hair at the crown by pulling up a section of it and brushing gently against the shaft with a teasing comb five or six times.

    • 6

Take the hair you've combed to the sides and bring it back up and lay it back over the teased area of hair you made. Spray hair with some hairspray to hold it in place, and you've got a voluminous style with a headband to boot.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can secure your hair in a cute, chic ponytail below the crown for a sleek headband and teased look.

  • To comb hair out after having teased it, spray a light mist of detangler onto the teased area and gently comb out with a wide-toothed comb.

  • Never wash teased hair, remember to always comb it out beforehand, as wet, teased hair can be impossible to untangle.
