How to Thread a Kenmore Sewing Machine 1792181
The Kenmore 1792 series of sewing machines are all threaded the same way, despite minor differences in sewing functions from one model to the next. Both the top thread and the bottom, or bobbin, thread will need to be properly threaded before you can begin sewing. You should thread your machine with a full spool and bobbin to ensure you have enough thread to finish your sewing project.
Instructions
-
-
1
Turn the hand wheel on the right to raise the needle to its highest point.
-
2
Gain access to the bobbin case by lifting the presser foot and sliding the case cover open.
-
-
3
Drop the bobbin into the bobbin case and pull the thread forward and to the left until you see and feel it slip through the thread slot. Hold the bobbin thread while you close the case cover. Make sure the bobbin rotates counter clockwise.
-
4
Slide the thread through the notch between the bobbin cover and the needle plate. Make sure it glides easily through the thread notch.
-
5
Place your spool of thread on the spool pin at the top of the machine and cover it with a spool cap.
-
6
Pull the thread around the small silver threading channel on the top left side of the machine. The thread should go straight across from the pin and loop toward you.
-
7
Draw the thread down to the spring at the bottom front of the machine, just above the needle.
-
8
Guide the thread back up to the top of the needle lever and insert it through the thread slot in the lever.
-
9
Run the thread back down toward the needle, inserting it into the two thread guides in front of the needle.
-
10
Thread the needle from front to back, pulling the thread two or three inches to make sure it runs smoothly from the spool.
