How to Get High School Credits Online
Many different websites and schools offer the opportunity to earn high school credits online. This is a good option for students who need to make up classes they have failed or for students who want to graduate early. It is also a good option when you want to take classes that are not offered by your high school. When you look for an online high school you should check for accreditation as well as whether the credits will count towards graduation

1
Talk to your high school counselor to find out what classes or sites will be accepted by the high school. Some high schools may require you to use programs through a local university or they may give you several different websites that are approved by your state.
-
2
Search online for schools that offer high school credits. There are many online high schools that have licensed teachers who instruct the classes. If you want the credit to count towards high school graduation, you need to be sure that the site you choose will be accepted by your school district.

3
Register for the class. These classes generally have set beginning and ending dates, unlike an independent study program that allows you to work at your own speed. If you are working on make up classes, you should make sure that the timeline will allow you to finish the credits in time to be counted towards graduation.
-
4
Complete the class work. The course work is just as rigorous as a normal high school class. Take the time to do your best work in order to earn the credits.
-
5
Submit the certification of completion to your high school guidance counselor. If you are transferring to an online high school, your guidance counselor can send it your records.
